They say that the only constant in this world is change, and although that statement is quite overused now, it still remains true today. Many things in life cannot be controlled, especially whatever change may come; the key here is to make the best choice—to embrace changes no matter what they may be.

A Possible World in the Future

Speaking of changes, a literary work that showcases such matters is “Angel of Mortality: Defender of Life Creator of Chaos.” Written by David W. Stewart, the book tells the story of going through a necessary battle to save humanity and the Planet after the creation of the SANG, a powerful machine that is capable of wreaking havoc on the world.

Dr. Raisa Ilyushkin invented the SANG device, which creates xenoborgs and continent-sized organisms that incorporate nanobots, artificial intelligence, and robotics into an efficient living machine. Then, a man named Stepan Pavlovich, who is a leader of an international crime syndicate called the Apparat, took a copy of the SANG. Stepan Pavlovich does this with the plan to use the device for evil, including mass murder, looking through the future, and reducing the world to only a population that is loyal to him.

As we journey through life, while it is indeed essential to embrace changes, if it is something that can only bring harm to the world, people should stop it before it’s too late. That is why it is important to know the difference, and that starts with educating yourself on the advantages and disadvantages that artificial intelligence has to offer to us all.

Before we jump right into it, let’s first define what artificial intelligence is. Artificial intelligence comes from a computer program that has the ability to think and learn on its own; it is a simulation of human intelligence inside machines that makes them do things that we usually rely on humans. With artificial intelligence, technological advances go beyond mere automation, as AI incorporates a broad spectrum of skills – all abilities that enable machines to learn, understand, interact, and reason in a human-like manner.

In technology, artificial intelligence helps enable machines to learn experiences that their users input, help them adapt to new information, and, most of all, perform tasks that typically require human intelligence. As we learn to leverage technology, we must all keep in mind that computers can be trained to perform tasks and analyze data. With that said, let’s hop right into knowing the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence:

Advantages of Artificial Intelligence

It helps reduce the amount of human error.

Just like with technology in general, the most significant benefit of artificial intelligence is that it is a big help in reducing errors and increasing accuracy and precision. However, it is important to take note that decisions that artificial intelligence takes are all decided by information that they gather through a certain set of algorithms.

It contributes to decision-making.

Artificial intelligence truly enhances decision-making through its method of leveraging vast data so it can identify patterns and trends that are, more than often, invisible to humans. These machine learning algorithms have the capability to analyze historical data and even predict future outcomes that allow businesses and individuals to make informed decisions as accurately and quickly as possible.

It is open for use at any time people need it.

One of the many key benefits of artificial intelligence is that it is available for users to utilize around the clock. Numerous studies show that humans are productive for only three to four hours per day. Aside from that, we humans also need breaks and time off every now and then. On the other hand, AI can work endlessly with no breaks at all. Not only that, but AI works much faster than humans and performs multiple tasks with accuracy at the same time.

Disadvantages of Artificial Intelligence

It encourages laziness.

While indeed technology provides convenience, the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence continues to grow. With artificial intelligence systems continuing to take over more responsibilities, this can lead to people becoming less inclined in developing their skills and knowledge.

It places privacy concerns.

Artificial systems often require a high amount of data to function in a way that every user deems useful in their daily lives. The problem with this matter is that personal data collection, storage, and analysis can be intrusive, with the possibility of opening up a person’s sensitive information.

With all that said, whatever life may throw your way, remember this: hold on, keep on going, and make the most of it. Yes, new things coming all at once can get overwhelming, but if you can, make the most of being able to embrace changes and power through them.
